As an artist her music continues to appear in movies and serves as samples to many singers and rappers. Her style and image which was developed by her stylist Jean Goude has been copied by many from, American politicians, 1970s boy bands and Annie Lennox to more recently the likes of Rihanna and Lady Gaga. Her low cut faded hairstyle from the 1970s era was adopted by black men all around the world and continues to be popular today in Africa.
In the 1970s-1980s she partied with the likes of Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Karl Lagerfield, Pat Cleveland etc and became a favourite with European designers who used her as their muse. Photos of her promoting their lines became some of the best taken for the designers. Rihanna’s stylist Mariel Haenn admits she is one of the top influencers of her work. Lady Gaga has also admitted that she is one of her role models and was recently shunned when she wanted to sing an duet with her. She is scarier than scary spice, crazier than Lady gaga cooler than rihanna, sexier than naomi Campbell with a voice that spans two and half octaves, I present to you GRACE JONES
